Gran Turismo 4 is the fourth installment of the famous Gran Turismo racing series for the Playstation 2, and one of the most incredible ever created for the PS2. It's superb graphics, sound and handling, made it a thrilling driving experience that few other racing games could touch back in 2004!

Review
Gran Turismo 4There is nothing much to tell about story. You just choose a car and race around trying to leave your opponents behind. The game features 52 tracks, which are divided into 4 groups (World Circuits, Original Circuits, City Courses, and Dirt & Snow), and with around 700 different models from just about every major manufacturer (sadly, except Ferrari and Porsche). You can also modify any car you own by gathering money from each and every successful win.
A new addition to the game is the Driving Missions, which are similar in experience to the license tests. Also a new Photo Mode is included in the game, which allows you to control a virtual camera, taking pictures of your car on the track or at specific locations! This game is one of the best -and most realistic- racing games ever created for the PS2.

The game's engine handles a large amount of polygons making each car almost photo-realistic. The environments and the tracks are absolutely beautiful replicating the real-life racing tracks with great success. Especially in replay mode, the visuals get close to photorealistic! In terms of lighting, trackside scenery, car modeling and texture detail are fantastic, although there are no changes in weather or time conditions during races, and there is no transition from day to night.
Sound FX are fantastic and add great realism to the whole package, by offering exact pitch or tone of sports car engine notes. The sounds are just as top notch! Plus there are several great music scores that accompany your challenging efforts behind the wheel of a 400Hp little monster.
