Review
Out RunStory/Gameplay:
You drive your (...) Ferrari Testarossa convertible with your girlfriend in the passenger seat. However, this game did not have an official Ferrari license (unlike its sequel Out Run 2, released many years later). Starting at a coastal area, you must pass through four checkpoints between five laps within a set time limit. Before every checkpoint, there was a fork in the road, allowing you to enter one of two different environments. The game was a major hit on the arcades and was notable for its innovative hardware (including a moving cabinet), pioneering graphics and music, a choice in both soundtrack and route, and its strong theme of luxury and relaxation.

Graphics/Sound:
The game featured good, for its era, graphics and the Master System version could handle a few similarities with the original (arcade) version. The animation is smooth (well color-cycling technique is used here and 3D effects using a sprite-scaling technique called 'Super-Scaler' technology) while the backgrounds move fast although a bit plain. I liked the sound, especially for the nice-to-hear arcade taken tunes, while the SFX are minimal.
