|A reasonable scrolling platformer with some nice graphics, and parallax scrolling. Released in late October 1993, Warlocks became Network 23's biggest hit.|
A platform shoot-em-up featuring a reincarnated knight who was tasked with freeing the world of Lylvania from the tyranny of 3 demented Warlocks. Warlocks' advertising boasted that was the only Acorn game to ever feature 8 directional, 256-color screens, parallax scrolling whilst running at a consistent 50 frames per second.
Graphically this game is very interesting. It uses very nice colors (256), detailed backgrounds and sprites! The animation is fluid and the action is pretty fast. It reminded me the awesome Ghouls n Ghosts! The sound also is good, featuring digitized sfx. No clue about the in-game tunes, as this reviewed here is a demo.
